Step up from beginner to independent communicator: complex sentences, past narrative, reflexive verbs, and Goethe A2 mastery.

What You Learn in German Level A2

CEFR A2 is where German becomes expressive and conversational. You move beyond basic survival phrases to forming compound sentences, explaining reasons, telling stories in the past, and describing objects and feelings in detail.

1. Subordinate Clauses

Master the verb-kick rule with weil (because), dass (that), wenn (if/when), and obwohl (although).

2. Narrative Past (Präteritum)

Learn written past tense for modal verbs, war, hatte, and storytelling in written German.

3. Adjective Declension

Master adjective endings after definite (der/die/das), indefinite (ein/eine), and zero articles in all cases.

4. Reflexive Verben

Learn everyday self-actions: sich freuen, sich interessieren für, sich anziehen with accusative & dative reflexives.

5. Relative Clauses (Relativsätze)

Connect complex ideas seamlessly: "Das ist der Mann, der mir geholfen hat."

6. Goethe A2 Exam Preparation

Format drills for Start Deutsch A2, formal emails, listening dialogues, and speaking presentations.
